Successful Seafood Sales In Belgium

Acme Smoked Fish Corporation, a Brooklyn, New York smoked fish supplier, traveled to Brussels, Belgium in April to attend the Seafood Expo Global. To maximize their show benefits, Acme registered for Food Export’s Food Show PLUS!™ services. These services included being part of the organized pavilion for suppliers of Northeast U.S. seafood products and on-site support from Food Export Staff and In-Market Representatives.

As a result of utilizing Food Export’s Food Show PLUS!™ services at the Expo, Acme Smoked Fish Corporation was able to report meeting ten new seafood buyers and actual sales of $10,000 and projecting $20,000 more in sales over the next six months. Acme was also able to initiate one new distributorships. These sales will increase their country market sales to over 20%.AcmeSmokedFish

Acme Smoked Fish Corporation is a four generation, family owned company that produces smoked salmon, specialty smoked fish, salads and herring serving the retail and bulk market sectors. This U.S. supplier has participated in Food Export activities since 2011 utilizing Buyers Missions, Food Show PLUS!™ services, the Food Export Helpline™, attending webinars, Focused Trade Missions, and seminars to expand their export market sales.

Food Export uses funding from the Market Access Program (MAP) to help America’s small businesses increase their exports of food and agricultural products; as these exports increase, these small businesses are creating jobs and improving the strength and stability of our agricultural economy. Food Export-Midwest and Food Export-Northeast are non-profit organizations that work in collaboration with their member state departments of agriculture and the USDA’s Foreign Agricultural Service. They offer a wide range of programs and services that help boost America’s agricultural exports.
