Lauren Kliethermes

Indiana, Iowa, Missouri, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota and Oklahoma

Lauren joined Food Export-Midwest in September 2018 as another member of the Liaison team. She was raised on a turkey, corn and soybean farm in rural Mid-Missouri and appreciates the slower, laid-back way of life. 

Lauren graduated from the University of Missouri – Columbia in 2015 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Science and Agricultural Journalism.  She developed marketing experience as the Digital Media Specialist at Missouri Press Association and has strong customer service skills.  Her interest in Food Export stems from her agricultural background and international travel experiences in New Zealand and Europe.

In her spare time Lauren enjoys reading, trying new recipes, traveling and is always on the lookout for a dog to pet. 

Paul Sorenson

Illinois, Kansas, Michigan, South Dakota and Wisconsin

A lifelong Wisconsinite, Paul moved to Chicago and joined the Food Export-Midwest team in July 2016. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a B.S. in Agriculture and Applied Economics and a Certificate in Development Economics. Prior to joining Food Export, Paul worked as an intern for a non-profit that helped educate dairy producers from around the world.

In his spare time, Paul enjoys trying new foods, playing guitar and exploring the great city of Chicago.  

Paul Weiss 



Paul joined Food Export-Midwest in September of 2011 as a Liaison. Paul serves as the point of contact for all companies in his region who utilize Food Export-Midwest's programs and services, and also looks to develop new relationships with U.S. food producers.

Paul earned his Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture Economics with a focus on international trade from the University of Illinois (Urbana-Champaign). He gained international exposure and Spanish language skills while studying abroad in both Argentina and Costa Rica. Paul's interests include traveling, camping, volunteering, sports and learning to play the drums.   

Deborah Ingravallo

New Hampshire, New Jersey, Pennsylvania

Deborah joined Food Export USA – Northeast as a Liaison in August 2017 following an extensive career as a Marketing and Events Coordinator with a local Trade Association, working with every segment of the Maritime Industry within the Ports of Philadelphia and Wilmington.  

Her career in Maritime began in sales and marketing with a major Steamship Line, eventually transitioning to outside sales within the Philadelphia area. 

Deborah is a Jersey girl born-and-raised and holds a B.A. from Penn State University.  She is a huge baseball fan (Philadelphia Phillies), loves the South Jersey shore, and is active in the Township and County where she resides in New Jersey.

Apryl King

Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maine, Rhode Island and Vermont

Apryl moved from Maine to Philadelphia to join Food Export-Northeast in October 2018 as a Liaison. Before joining as Liaison, Apryl was a Research Associate at the Maine International Trade Center as well as a Food Export Intern in Maine. Apryl received her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Southern Maine.   

Apryl is a true Mainer and New Englander and loves seafood and the outdoors. Apryl loves exploring the outdoors and in her new city of Philadelphia.

Madison Smith

Delaware and New York

Maddie joined Food Export USA – Northeast in September 2018 as a Liaison. She graduated in May 2018 and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Food Marketing and International Business from Saint Joseph’s University right here in Philadelphia. Maddie has had internship experiences in both sales and recruiting prior to her graduation from SJU. Maddie has lived in the suburbs of Philadelphia all her life but loves the experience of working right in Center City!

In her free time, Maddie loves being outside snowboarding or hiking, watching the Philadelphia Eagles and trying new restaurants.
