  • Big Shucking Success for Maine Lobster Supplier

    Shucks Maine Lobster started as a small, 20 seat, family owned Maine Lobster and Oyster bar in Kennebunkport, Maine. Johnny Hathaway, a Maine native, and his five young children, ages eight to eighteen at the time, opened the popular summer seafood attraction simply as a way for the five children to all work together during their summer vacation.

  • Iowa Supplier Gains New Feed Exports

    In June 2017, Naturally Recycled Proteins, located in Johnston, Iowa, in the 3rd Congressional District, attended Food Export’s Value-Added Feed Ingredients Buyers Mission at the 2017 World Pork Expo where they met with buyers from Brazil, China, Colombia, Mexico, Philippines, Romania and South Korea. In November, the Iowa Supplier had projected sales of $1,000,000 USD of their Pre-Mix Animal Feeds to South Korea and the Philippines.

  • Increased Exports to Australia for Wisconsin Supplier

    New Composite Partners’ first introduction in the Australian market was in 2012 with utilization of Food Export’s Market Access Program (MAP) funded Branded Program and has provided a solid foundation and opportunity for continued growth of marketing endeavors.     Michael’s Bakery Products of Clear Lake, Iowa utilized Food Export’s Branded Program in 2017 to help them expand their international business into Japan and China. Participating in the Market Access Program (MAP) funded program helped offset the costs of travel and booth fees for events in these markets which in turn helped the supplier focus on creating key contacts and export opportunities.

  • Missouri Supplier Expands Exports

    In February of 2018, Prime Performance Nutrition, from Cosby, Missouri, reported gaining new export sales to Kuwait with the assistance of Food Export’s Market Access Program (MAP) funded Branded Program. Utilizing their allocated funds to focus on expanding their exports to Kuwait due to the robust race horse industry there, they looked to increase sales through product education and promotion.

  • Barking Up Export Sales to Canada

    In 2017, Polkadog Bakery from Boston, Massachusetts utilized Food Export’s Branded Program to increase their export marketing strategies. Using the 50% cost reimbursement program helped the pet treat supplier expand their marketing activities in Canada while deferring costs of shipping and attending trade shows in the market.

    In 2017, Annamaet Pet Foods, Inc. located in Telford, Pennsylvania, in the 8th Congressional District, utilized funds from Food Export’s Market Access Program (MAP) funded Branded Program to increase their market share in Czech Republic. With the utilization of Food Export’s 50% cost reimbursement for international marketing activities, they were able to account for sales of $577,500.

  • New Exports to Peru for Pennsylvania Snack Supplier

    In March of 2017, Herr Foods Inc., located in Nottingham, Pennsylvania, the 16th Congressional District, attended Food Export’s Natural Products Buyers Mission at Natural Products Expo West where they established a new relationship with a buyer from Peru. With this new connection the Pennsylvania chip and snack supplier was able to earn new export sales of $20,000. Herr’s also projects to do $80,000 more in sales with the buyer over the next twelve months.

    In 2017, Acme Smoked Fish, Inc. located in Brooklyn, New York, in the 12th Congressional District, participated in Food Export’s Market Access Program (MAP) funded Branded Program to alleviate the costs of attending domestic and international tradeshows. The funding helped Acme attend the Seafood Expo Global in Brussels last April where they promoted their smoked salmon and other seafood products to a large audience of international buyers.
