In 2019, More Than Gourmet (an Akron, Ohio company specializing in sauces, stocks, and broths) participated in the Food Export – Midwest’s Export Advisor Program which enabled them to sell over $30,000 of their Kitchen Accomplice bone broth concentrates to Canada.
This marks their first ever export retail sales to this market!
According to Jeff Witherite, CFO, “The
Export Advisor Program was extremely beneficial in helping More Than Gourmet to understand the Canadian market and prospective customers. As a result, we were able to formalize a distributor relationship that provides us with national coverage in the Canadian retail channel.”
More Than Gourmet is a producer of traditional, authentic French cooking sauces and stocks, food ingredients, and the Kitchen Accomplice brand of broths, taco seasonings, and burger enhancers. The ingredients, processes, and recipes used in these sauces, stocks, and broths are rooted in French sauce tradition and methods, allowing More Than Gourmet to deliver high quality, pure, culinary-grade products. In the future, they hope to secure product placement with additional retailers in the Canadian market, expand their product offering in the Canadian market, and explore additional foreign markets.
Food Export uses funding from the
Market Access Program (MAP) to help America’s small businesses increase their exports of food and agricultural products. As these exports increase, these small businesses are creating jobs and improving the strength and stability of our agricultural economy. Food Export-Midwest and Food Export-Northeast are non-profit organizations that work in collaboration with their member state departments of agriculture and the
USDA’s Foreign Agricultural Service. They offer a wide range of programs and services that help boost America’s agricultural exports.
