International Community Goes "Nuts" Over Pennsylvania Supplier

by Food Export | Aug 07, 2019
Working with Food Export - Northeast since 1999, Pennsylvania-based Terrafina has been able to grow their exports to many new markets. Most recently in 2018, Food Export’s Branded Program allowed Terrafina to explore Southeast Asia, specifically Singapore and South Korea. The funds from this program allowed them to travel to international trade shows like Seoul Food & Hotel and Food & Hotel Asia.

The Market Access Program (MAP) funded Branded Program, a 50% cost-share reimbursement program, helps companies make the most of their marketing budget so their promotional efforts can go further in international markets.  The utilization of this program helped Terrafina establish 1 new agent in Singapore, 8 new foreign contacts between both markets and project sales of $20,000 to Singapore.

Terrafina, located in East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania in the 10th Congressional District, has participated in Food Export’s many activities over the years, such as Buyers Missions, Food Show PLUS!™, the Online Product Catalog, the Food Export Helpline™, and educational services like webinars. Terrafina is a producer of USDA certified organic nut and trail mixes, dried fruits, and sweet treats.

Food Export uses funding from the Market Access Program (MAP) to help America’s small businesses increase their exports of food and agricultural products. As these exports increase, these small businesses are creating jobs and improving the strength and stability of our agricultural economy. Food Export-Midwest and Food Export-Northeast are non-profit organizations that work in collaboration with their member state departments of agriculture and the USDA’s Foreign Agricultural Service. They offer a wide range of programs and services that help boost America’s agricultural exports.
