New Export Markets for Illinois Supplier

In 2018, Chicago American Sweets & Snacks Inc. (formerly Brandventure Group), located in Chicago, Illinois, in the 5th Congressional District, participated in Food Export - Midwest’s Branded Program that helped them gain $61,500 in new export sales, 10 new foreign contacts, and 5 new agent relationships with Sweden and the Netherlands.

In February, the supplier was able to report these and also projected to complete $85,000 in sales over the next twelve months. This was Chicago American Sweets and Snacks Inc.’s first time exporting to Sweden and the Netherlands.

The Illinois Supplier has utilized the Market Access Program funded Branded Program since 2009. Chicago American Sweets & Snacks Inc. has also participated in Food Export’s Market Builder program, Helpline™, Focused Trade Missions, webinars, and Online Product Catalog.

Chicago American Sweets & Snacks Inc. is a distributor of sweet and savory popcorn, pretzels, and extruded snacks the in retail market segment.

Food Export uses funding from the Market Access Program (MAP) to help America’s small businesses increase their exports of food and agricultural products. As these exports increase, these small businesses are creating jobs and improving the strength and stability of our agricultural economy. Food Export-Midwest and Food Export-Northeast are non-profit organizations that work in collaboration with their member state departments of agriculture and the USDA’s Foreign Agricultural Service. They offer a wide range of programs and services that help boost America’s agricultural exports.
