by Food Export | Jun 29, 2017
In 2016, Lafeber located in Cornell, Illinois in the 16th Congressional District, utilized Food Export’s Branded Program to exhibit at several major veterinary shows in Europe. As a result of exhibiting at these shows, they met over 272 foreign buyers; achieved actual sales of over $200,000 within 6 months of the shows; and made first-time export sales to Ireland, Belgium, Croatia, Hungary, and Latvia. Lafeber saw over a 20% increase in their export sales due to these marketing efforts.

According to Debbie Garzanelli, International Marketing Coordinator, “Assistance from the Food Export Branded Program over the last five years has been instrumental in our international growth and success”.

Lafeber Company is a producer of bird food products for retail and veterinary distribution.

Food Export uses funding from the Market Access Program (MAP) to help America’s small businesses increase their exports of food and agricultural products. As these exports increase, these small businesses are creating jobs and improving the strength and stability of our agricultural economy. Food Export-Midwest and Food Export-Northeast are non-profit organizations that work in collaboration with their member state departments of agriculture and the USDA’s Foreign Agricultural Service. They offer a wide range of programs and services that help boost America’s agricultural exports.
