Sweet Sale Thanks to Sweets and Snacks Buyers Mission

Between May 23 and 25, 2016, Herr Foods Inc., located in Nottingham, PA, in the 16th Congressional District, attended the Sweets and Snacks Buyers Mission at the 2016 Sweets and Snacks Expo where they established profitable relationships with buyers from the United Kingdom. Because of these connections, they made a sale with a buyer in the United Kingdom, worth $40,000.


As a result, Herr Foods Inc. experienced a 20% or more increase in foreign sales.

Herr Foods Inc., founded in 1946 after James Stauffer Herr bought a small potato chip company for $1,750. Since then, Herr Foods Inc. has grown immensely, becoming a leader in the snack food industry.  Herr Foods Inc. is a producer of over 340 snack food items in the retail distribution channel. Herr Foods Inc. has utilized Food Export programs such as Buyers Missions, Focused Trade Missions, the Export Advisor Program, the Food Export Helpline™, State Seminars, and the Online Product Catalog to help aid in foreign exports throughout the years.

As these exports increase, these small businesses are creating jobs and improving the strength and stability of our agricultural economy. Food Export-Midwest and Food Export-Northeast are non-profit organizations that work in collaboration with their member state departments of agriculture and the USDA’s Foreign Agricultural Service. They offer a wide range of programs and services that help boost America’s agricultural exports.
