Philadelphia Supplier Exports to South Korea with Branded Program Assistance

Food Export’s Branded Program has helped Classic Cake obtain new export sales to South Korea. In 2015, the Market Access Program funded Branded Program provided funding for the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania based supplier to focus on their exporting plan to South Korea.

With a strong marketing plan that included working with a representative in the market and expanding the exposure of their cheesecakes, Classic Cake utilized their allocated Branded Funds to ship samples and modify package labels to meet the country requirements. Reporting over $200,000 in actual new sales to South Korea was a significant accomplishment as it marked a 20% increase in sales to the market.

Classic Cake has participated in Food Export programs since 2015, participating in the Online Product Catalog, Buyers Missions, the Food Export Helpline™ and utilizing the Branded Program.

Food Export uses funding from the Market Access Program (MAP) to help America’s small businesses increase their exports of food and agricultural products. As these exports increase these small businesses are creating jobs and improving the strength and stability of our agricultural economy. Food Export-Midwest and Food Export-Northeast are non-profit organizations that work in collaboration with their member state departments of agriculture and the USDA’s Foreign Agricultural Service. They offer a wide range of programs and services that help boost America’s agricultural exports.
