Cissé Cocoa Co. Increases Export Sales

In June 2015, Cissé Cocoa Co., located in Mamaroneck, New York, in the 16th Congressional District, attended the Specialty Foods Buyers Mission at the 2015 Summer Fancy Food Show.

During this Buyers Mission they had several one-on-one meetings with potential buyers and distributors. As a direct result from these meetings they created new agent relationships with buyers from six different markets and made a first time sale to a Canadian Buyer that has resulted in repeated business.

Cissé Cocoa Co. is also a Branded Program participant with Food Export—Northeast. The Branded Program provides up to 50% reimbursement for a wide variety of international marketing activities. Cissé has more than doubled their export sales since 2014 with assistance from the Branded Program.

Cissé Cocoa Co. is a producer of snackable brownie thins, hot cocoa mixes, and baking mixes made from Fair Trade Organic cocoa powder and cane sugar.

Food Export uses funding from the Market Access Program (MAP) to help America’s small businesses increase their exports of food and agricultural products. As these exports increase these small businesses are creating jobs and improving the strength and stability of our agricultural economy. Food Export-Midwest and Food Export-Northeast are non-profit organizations that work in collaboration with their member state departments of agriculture and the USDA’s Foreign Agricultural Service. They offer a wide range of programs and services that help boost America’s agricultural exports.
