  • American Premium Foods Increases Exports to UAE

    In 2017, American Premium Foods, located in Omaha, Nebraska, in the 2nd Congressional District, attended SIAL Middle East by utilizing their allocated Food Export Branded Program funds. At the show they established two new distributor relationships with buyers from United Arab Emirates. In December 2017, they made sales of Chefkom processed and smoked beef products worth $200,000.

  • New York Manufacturer Makes Headway in Chile

    In 2018, Rosina Food Products, Inc., located in Buffalo, New York, in the 26th Congressional District, participated in Food Export’s Rep Finder program offered through the Market Builder service. With assistance from Food Export’s In-Market Representatives, Rosina Food, was able to secure USD$100,000.00 in sales as a result of the activity. Representatives from Rosina Food traveled to Chile to meet with 3 foreign buyers. As a result of these meetings, Rosina Food will soon gain a trading partner in the Chilean market.

  • Craft Brewery Finds New Export Market in Pacific Through Buyers Mission

    In August 2017, Minhas Craft Brewery, located in Monroe, Wisconsin, in the 2nd Congressional District, attended the 2017 Midwest Buyers Mission. During the mission, the craft brewery met with buyers from Europe, Southeast Asia, and Latin America.

  • Branded Program Success for Massachusetts Supplier

    In 2017, Lobster Trap, Inc., located in Bourne, Massachusetts, traveled to Brussels, Belgium to take part of the Seafood Expo Global. The Seafood Expo Global is of particular importance to Lobster Trap, as the three day event serves as the annual meeting place for export contacts all over the world.

  • Export Growth to UAE Continues for Pennsylvania Supplier

    In 2017, Vectra Trading, Inc., located in Lansdale, Pennsylvania, participated in Food Export’s Branded Program, which resulted in the creation of 35 new buyer contacts as well as sales of their bread and liquid oil products over $1,000,000 to the United Arab Emirates.

  • Export Success to Canada

    Utilizing funds from the Market Access Program (MAP) funded Branded Program has helped Smith & Salmon, Inc. from Burlington, Vermont expand their export business to Canada in 2017. Using their allocated funds to promote their SAP! beverage products in the market with promotional literature and in-store sampling helped increase brand awareness and grow sales.

    2017 was the first year that Germantown, Wisconsin based Isle of Dogs Corporation participated in the Market Access Program (MAP) funded Food Export Branded Program. Focused on gaining market share in China, the Supplier utilized their allocated funding to promote their premium dog products in the fastest growing market in the pet industry.

  • Wisconsin Supplier Gains Exports Through Buyers Mission & Branded Program

    In October 2017, Bio-Nutrition International Inc., located in Madison, Wisconsin in the 2nd Congressional District, attended Food Export’s Value-Added Feed Ingredients Buyers Mission at the 2017 World Dairy Expo. During the mission, the Wisconsin feed additive and ingredient supplier met with buyers from China and Vietnam.

  • Belle Cove Success In Three International Markets

    In 2017, Belle Cove, located in South Portland, Maine, in the 1st Congressional District, utilized Food Export’s Branded Program funds to contribute to marketing efforts in Hong Kong, Singapore, and Thailand. Food Export’s Branded Program offers 50% cost reimbursement for approved international marketing activities. On a mission to provide value-added and high quality seafood from the United States to tables around the world, the U.S Supplier utilized their allocated funding to attend foreign trade shows, conduct in-store demonstration in key retail channels, and develop a multi-language website.

  • Clever Growing Exports to Canada

    For over 20 years, Clever Cookie has been providing unique, brightly decorated designs of delicious shortbread cookies that are Kosher certified and outstanding customer service to customers worldwide. Over the years, Clever Cookie has expanded its product offerings by adding official licensed character designs and has broadened their product categories to include Shelf Stable Cookies for Center of Store, Fresh Baked Cookies for in-store bakery, Frozen and refrigerated dough, Gourmet Brownies and Cakes.

  • New York Supplier Gains Exports to Australia

    Each year, Food Export Association of the Midwest organizes a Buyers Mission at the Winter Fancy Food Show in San Francisco. This year, Food Export brought ten buyers from ten different markets to meet with 39 U.S. supplier participants which resulted in a successful match between our Australian buyer and Good Noodles, Inc. (DBA Sfoglini).

  • Miller's Mustard Establishes Partnership at 2018 Northeast Buyers Mission

    On January 29, 2018, Miller’s Mustard, located in Gibsonia, PA in the 3rd Congressional District, attended Food Export’s Northeast Buyers Mission in Philadelphia. At the event, the company met with various international food buyers, including a representative of a large food importer from Japan. In February 2018, Miller’s completed a sale of Miller’s Sweet & Spicy Banana Pepper Mustard and has shipped five pallets of product to their new partner.

  • Branded Program Continues to Assist Export Growth of Connecticut Supplier

    The Orange Cheese Company began working with Food Export in 2014 taking part of the Market Access Program (MAP) funded Branded Program and attending Focused Trade Missions to China and Hong Kong.     Kontos Foods, Inc. from Paterson, New Jersey is a U.S. based manufacturer and distributor of traditional Greek and Mediterranean foods. Founded in 1987, Kontos works with food service and retail market segments, domestically and internationally. The family-owned company specializes in hand-stretched Flatbreads, including the Kontos Pocket-Less Pita® (producing over 60 varieties of multi-ethnic Pita and Flatbreads), Fillo Dough, Fillo Pastries, and other high-quality Mediterranean foods. Kontos Foods, which has over 275 employees, was founded by Evripides (Evris) Kontos and his son Steve, who together bring over 100 years’ experience in the premium food industry.

  • King Orchards Begins Export Journey

    King Orchards, Inc., located in Central Lake, Michigan, of the 2nd Congressional District made a new export sale and contact with distributors in South Korea and China as a result of their participation in the 2017 Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (MDARD) Trade Mission to China and the 2017 Food Export Focused Trade Mission to South Korea. According to Juliette King, Project Manager for King Orchards, “We were able to make a first ever export sale valued at $1,300 as a direct result from our participation in Food Export’s Focused Trade Mission to South Korea. We also have a pending export sales order valued at $31,000.”

    In 2017, Agri-Dairy Products Inc., located in Purchase, New York, in the 17th Congressional District, attended Food Export’s Focused Trade Mission to Mexico for Food Ingredients. The market offered good opportunities for the U.S. Supplier to grow their food ingredient exports to the Mexican market while also provided educational opportunities during the Mission.
