News Bulletin: Northeast US Lobster Suppliers Now Able to Export to Brazil

May 14, 2020

Food Export–Northeast makes it a priority to share important news about export and trade regulation changes for the Northeast US seafood industry. Live American lobster can now be sold to Brazil. On April 24, 2020, the Brazilian Ministry published Circular Letter#81/2020/DHC/CGI /DIPOA /SDA/ MAPA. This regulation provides product certification for United States export of lobster and lobster product using the Health Certificate For The Import Of Lobster And Lobster Products From Wild Fisheries. On May 4, 2020, market access to Brazil became official. The certificate will be added to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA) online certification system on June 11, but in the meantime it will be issued via PDF.
