Ohio’s Lakeview Farms Finds Export Success

Food Export's Branded Program provides 50% cost reimbursement for a wide variety of international marketing activities and recently helped Ohio-based Lakeview Farms gain export sales to Canada.

Lakeview Farms, an Ohio food manufacturer that represents several brands in the U.S and Canadian markets recently experienced export success with Food Export-Midwest’s Branded Program. The Branded Program is designed to assist small to medium-sized U.S. food suppliers with the cost of marketing internationally.  In 2021, using funding from the Market Access Program (MAP) through Food Export’s Branded Program, Lakeview Farms reported an increase of $300,000 in sales, followed up by an additional $200,000 just in projected sales to Canada.

As a result of using Food Export’s Market Access Program (MAP) funded Branded Program for marketing during eligible domestic trade shows, Lakeview Farms now has 2 agents, and 3 new customers in Canada. Food Export assists many suppliers like Lakeview Farms to develop effective marketing strategies and facilitate the interactions with foreign buyers that are necessary for export success.

Since 1988 Lakeview Farms has been making high-quality retail ready-to-eat food products. With 34 years of experience, Lakeview Farms is dedicated to making high-quality up Midwest-made foods.

Food Export uses funding from the Market Access Program (MAP) to help America’s small businesses increase their exports of food and agricultural products. As these exports increase, these small businesses are creating jobs and improving the strength and stability of our agricultural economy. Food Export-Midwest and Food Export-Northeast are non-profit organizations that work in collaboration with their member state departments of agriculture and the USDA’s Foreign Agricultural Service. They offer a wide range of programs and services that help boost America’s agricultural exports.
