Once you have classified your products for export using the Harmonized System (HS) and Schedule B codes, another important task is to perform research to identify target markets. USDA’s Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS) has a food and agricultural product database that helps you establish your export statistics in a variety of ways. This database is the Global Agricultural Trade System known as “GATS”. In this webinar you will learn to navigate “GATS” and hoe you can use export statistics to perform statistical research and make sound export decisions.

Topics will include:

  • How to access “GATS”
  • Overview of the layout of programming options
  • Bulk, Intermediate and Consumer-Oriented foods – “BICO”
  • The “Processed Food” option
  • Search options: World, Regional, Partners or Specific Countries
  • Export data by state and customs districts
  • Drilling down: Commodity aggregates versus HS and Schedule B
  • Q&A with presenter

Don’t have time to sit down and attend the live webinar? All registrants will receive access to a recording of the event, be sure to register so you can access the recording.

Important Registration Note: Individuals who register should receive an email with the link and information you need to participate one day prior to the webinar. If you don’t receive this information and/or have any questions, please contact us at webinars@foodexport.org.
