1:00 PM CDT / 2:00 PM EDT

In order to qualify your products for preferential tariff treatment under the United States, Mexico and Canada Free Trade Agreement (USMCA FTA), you must apply any specific Rule of Origin (ROO) under the agreement. This is required in order to legally sign the origin certification document and support the buyer’s claim for preferential tariff treatment to their respective customs. Unlike NAFTA, there is no official certificate of origin requirement, but there is a highly recommended template we will provide you, as well as detailed instructions on how to complete it.

Join us as we’ll review the dynamics of USMCA origin certification, including:

  • Locating the Legal Text of USMCA
  • USMCA Origin Vernacular
  • Usage of the Harmonized System (HS)
  • Rule of Origin and Preference Criterions
  • Origin Certification
  • Who can claim origination under USMCA?
  • Nine elements required at a minimum to claim origin under USMCA
  • The FTA Tariff Tool – What’s My Tariff for product specific rules of origin (PSR) for USMCA
  • Q&A session with presenter
