U.S. wood products are agricultural goods that can be marketed to various places around the world. The U.S. is a leading exporter of wood products. According to the USDA, there was a total of $9.51 billion in exports of U.S. forest and wood products in 2024.
Food Export works directly with the wood industry and relevant organizations, such as state agricultural promotion agencies, state forestry product associations, and the American Hardwood Export Council (AHEC). As the Food Export Wood Program continues to expand, strategic collaborations play a critical role in engaging wood-based suppliers who may not initially realize their eligibility for Food Export services. These partnerships also ensure that Food Export remains closely aligned with the evolving needs of the wood products industry.

Through the USDA Foreign Agricultural Service, Food Export’s Branded Program supports U.S. wood companies’ international marketing efforts by reimbursing 50% of approved international marketing and promotional activities.
