Since 2021, Rutherford, New Jersey–based Dairy Delight LLC has actively participated in Food Export–Northeast’s Branded Program to expand the international presence of its Norman’s Dairy brand. Over four program years, the supplier has leveraged Market Access Program (MAP) funding to implement strategic promotional campaigns across Canada and the United Kingdom, with impressive results.

Dairy Delight first joined the Branded Program in 2021 to promote its kosher Greek yogurt line through major print advertising in Canadian publications. CEO Shulim Ostreicher shared that the company entered the market later than many competitors, but the advertising support significantly accelerated brand recognition. “With the advertising doing so well in magazines throughout the country, we have now expanded to promote not only yogurt but also cream cheese. The funding allowed us to increase our budget, and we are now considering digital advertisements because of participating,” he explained.

As a result of these efforts, Dairy Delight experienced substantial growth in Canada—achieving over a 90% sales increase within their first two years of participation and ultimately surpassing a 120% increase in export sales from 2021 to 2024. In 2022 alone, the supplier reported $1 million in Canadian sales, with expectations to double that figure the following year. In early 2024, Dairy Delight announced that sales to Canada exceeded $1.5 million and projected an additional $2 million in sales over the next twelve months. Throughout its participation, the company has also gained 8 new foreign buyer contacts and secured 4 new Canadian distributorships.

Building on this momentum, Dairy Delight expanded its promotional activities to the United Kingdom, where it conducted print media advertising campaigns to introduce products such as its Crème Greek Dessert Yogurt, Tast Nonfat Yogurt, Yogurt Poppers, and Low-Fat Yogurt. These efforts have successfully established the Norman’s brand in a new market, resulting in more than $100,000 in UK export sales, along with 3 foreign buyer contacts and 2 new distributors.

Founded in 2004, Dairy Delight LLC is a leading kosher dairy manufacturer producing a wide range of yogurts, yogurt blends, and cream cheese under the Norman’s Dairy brand. Known for its innovation and quality, the company produces all products at its state-of-the-art exclusive Chalav Yisrael facility in Rutherford, New Jersey. Their commitment to excellence has earned industry recognition, including the Kosherfest “Best New Dairy Product Award” for their classic Greek nonfat yogurt.

Reflecting on the company’s mission, CEO Shulim Ostreicher shared, “We started the company to provide consumers with premium kosher dairy options. That meant sourcing from healthy cows grazing on the finest pastures, ensuring optimal freshness in transport, and utilizing advanced manufacturing processes for consistency and quality. Our customers in the UK and Canada have been very receptive to high-quality kosher products they can trust.”

Through consistent and strategic use of Branded Program funding, Dairy Delight LLC has successfully expanded its international footprint, strengthened brand awareness in key export markets, and achieved significant year-over-year growth.
