"We couldn't be more excited to finally get our cheese north of the border."

Founded in 2003, Jasper Hill Farm is a working dairy farm with an on-site creamery in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. An underground aging facility maximizes the potential of cheeses made by the creamery and other local producers. Jasper Hill Farm’s mission is to make the highest possible quality products in a way that supports Vermont’s working landscape. They are driven to be the standard bearer of quality and innovation in the artisan cheese industry while promoting their regional taste of place.

In 2013, the Vermont Agency of Agriculture Food and Markets referred the Vermont producer to Food Export for assistance exporting their cheese products. Jasper Hill started participating in Food Export’s Branded Program to gain brand awareness for their products in Canada. Through the cost reimbursement program, they could exhibit at trade shows and defer the costs associated with the event.

More recently, in May 2023, Jasper Hill Farm used Food Export’s Food Show PLUS! services while attending the SIAL Canada show in Toronto. They succeeded in developing a first-time partnership with “Tree of Life” as an importer/distributor for the Canadian Market. In December 2023, Jasper Hill Farm confirmed the collaboration and expects revenue in two-three years with a goal to double sales over five years.

Katie Losito, VP of Sales and Marketing with Jasper Hill Farm, said, “We couldn’t be more excited to finally get our cheese north of the border.” As a result, Tree of Life and Jasper Hill Farm will launch the new program in April 2024. Jasper Hill Farms will exhibit again during the 2024 Sial Canada trade show.

Food Export uses funding from the Market Access Program (MAP) to help America’s small businesses increase their exports of food and agricultural products. As these exports increase, these small businesses are creating jobs and improving the strength and stability of our agricultural economy. Food Export-Midwest and Food Export-Northeast are non-profit organizations that work in collaboration with their member state departments of agriculture and the USDA’s Foreign Agricultural Service. They offer a wide range of programs and services that help boost America’s agricultural exports.
