Food Export Trade Lead Creates Sales to China for Vermont Pet Supplement Supplier  

In 2018 Under the Weather looked to Food Export-Northeast for assistance in gaining international brand awareness and export growth. The Vermont supplier was establishing an international distributor network and joined the Branded Program to assist with the goal.

Under the Weather was founded in Vermont by certified pet-lover and dog mom after her pet experienced some digestive upset. Not happy with the bland diet products available, products were developed to be more convenient to pet owners experiencing the same issues. Under the Weather’s award-winning products have become recognized by pet experts and industry leaders as some of the safest and most effective supplements available.  

In 2018 Under the Weather looked to Food Export-Northeast for assistance in gaining international brand awareness and export growth. The Vermont supplier was establishing an international distributor network and joined the Branded Program to assist with the goal.  

In January 2024, Food Export shared a trade lead with Under the Weather when a buyer from China was searching for pet health care products. Under the Weather followed up with the Chinese buyer and has since completed a sale for $100,000. The company has also reported gaining 10 new foreign buyer contacts with the program and has established 2 new distributorships with projected sales of $750,000 over the next twelve months.  

The supplier also registered for Food Export’s Online Product Catalog. The complimentary service from Food Export allowed the supplier to list its products in a database for international buyers to access when looking for U.S. products to import.
