A woman-owned business, Rocky Neck Lobster Co., dba Cape Ann Lobstermen, was founded on three core values: trust, hard work, and a shared passion for the fishery and its community. Located on the historic waterfront of Gloucester, Massachusetts, the company is dedicated to delivering top-quality seafood and exceptional service from trap to table. Its product offerings include lobster, oysters, and Jonah crab.

The company began exporting in 2022, the same year it joined Food Export–Northeast programs, gaining valuable educational tools and resources to navigate export logistics. Participation also helped defer marketing costs as the business expanded into international markets.

In 2023, Rocky Neck Lobster Co. took part in Food Export–Northeast’s Branded Program to exhibit at Seafood Expo North America, one of the world’s largest seafood trade shows attracting international buyers. Through the program, the company received reimbursement for half of its booth cost. These efforts resulted in $10 million in sales and the establishment of 8 new distributorships.

Building on that success, the company participated again in 2024, showcasing its locally caught Jonah crab and American lobster at Seafood Expo North America to continue growing its international reach.

Food Export uses funding from the Market Access Program (MAP) to help America’s small businesses increase their exports of food and agricultural products. As these exports increase, these small businesses are creating jobs and improving the strength and stability of our agricultural economy. Food Export-Midwest and Food Export-Northeast are non-profit organizations that work in collaboration with their member state departments of agriculture and the USDA’s Foreign Agricultural Service. They offer a wide range of programs and services that help boost America’s agricultural exports.
