Since 2019, South Hackensack, New Jersey-based Pocas International Corporation has leveraged Food Export–Northeast programs and services to expand export sales and enter new markets. Founded in 2005 by Kevin Shin, the food and beverage manufacturer is committed to honesty, integrity, and long-term partnerships. The company focuses on tracking global trends in healthy foods and beverages to provide consumers with high-quality products at the lowest possible prices.
To boost international sales and brand visibility, Pocas began using Food Export–Northeast’s Branded Program in 2019. This 50% cost-reimbursement program helped offset expenses for overseas marketing efforts. That year, Pocas promoted products in France, South Africa, Mexico, Colombia, Brazil, and Thailand through international trade shows and sample shipments, resulting in nine new agent relationships and 30 foreign contacts across the United Arab Emirates, Germany, and South Korea. Sales included $30,000 to the UAE, $15,000 to Germany, and $15,000 to South Korea, with projected additional sales of $110,000.
In 2022, Pocas expanded activities in France, Colombia, Mexico, and Thailand, gaining 12 new agent relationships and 53 foreign contacts. The company achieved $15,000 in first-time sales to France, with an additional $30,000 projected.
At the ANUGA Show in Germany in October 2023, Pocas utilized Food Export’s Food Show PLUS!™ services for on-site support and buyer introductions, resulting in a first-time sale to Germany of $150,000 and a new distributorship, with projected sales of $500,000.
In 2024, Pocas continued with the Branded Program to grow its presence in France and the United Kingdom. Funded promotions—including advertising campaigns, sample shipments, trade show participation, and product demonstrations—generated $1 million in sales to the UK and $500,000 to France, along with 14 new buyer contacts, three distributorships, and projected sales exceeding $3.5 million in the next year.
Pocas International Corporation has leveraged Food Export–Northeast programs to strengthen its global presence and boost export sales. Through strategic use of the Branded Program, international trade shows, and targeted promotions, the healthy food and beverage supplier has entered new markets including Germany, France, and the United Kingdom. Recent efforts have generated more than $1.65 million in sales, with over $3.5 million projected
Food Export uses funding from the Market Access Program (MAP) to help America’s small businesses increase their exports of food and agricultural products. As these exports increase, these small businesses are creating jobs and improving the strength and stability of our agricultural economy. Food Export-Midwest and Food Export-Northeast are non-profit organizations that work in collaboration with their member state departments of agriculture and the USDA’s Foreign Agricultural Service. They offer a wide range of programs and services that help boost America’s agricultural exports.
