Established in 1980, International American Supermarket Corp. (IAS) has built a strong reputation as a trusted export service provider for American branded food and beverage products. Headquartered in Piscataway, New Jersey, the company specializes in serving the retail, foodservice/HORECA, and institutional sectors, managing more than 50 U.S. brands across 58 international markets throughout Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia.
IAS has participated in Food Export programs since 1997, leveraging a wide range of services to support its global growth. Over the years, the company has utilized the Branded Program, Buyers Missions, Food Show PLUS! events, the Online Product Catalog, and educational webinars to connect with qualified buyers and expand market opportunities for U.S. brands.
In 2024, IAS participated in Food Export–Northeast’s Food Show PLUS!™ at SIAL Paris, one of the world’s premier food trade shows. Through Food Show PLUS!™ services—including pre-show market briefings, introductions to qualified buyers, on-site assistance, and post-show lead follow-up—IAS connected with new international prospects, including a buyer from France. As a result of the event, IAS generated 20 new foreign buyer contacts, secured $300,000 in confirmed sales, and established four new distributorships. The company also projects an additional $800,000 in sales over the next twelve months stemming from these connections.
“As always, we are pleased to partner with Food Export on these sorts of programs at exhibitions,” said Alex Sauma, Sales Manager at IAS. “The service was top tier.”
In addition to marketing and buyer connections, IAS adds value through its own export consolidation warehouse, where it provides services such as product consolidation, re-packing, and adaptation to meet specific foreign import and labeling requirements—helping U.S. brands successfully enter and compete in international markets.
IAS’s long-standing success in global trade has earned national recognition, including the President’s “E” Award, the highest honor awarded by the U.S. government for significant contributions to the expansion of American exports. Continued participation in Food Export programs has enabled IAS to maintain momentum, strengthen buyer relationships, and deliver measurable export growth for the U.S. food and beverage brands it represents.
Food Export uses funding from the Market Access Program (MAP) to help America’s small businesses increase their exports of food and agricultural products. As these exports increase, these small businesses are creating jobs and improving the strength and stability of our agricultural economy. Food Export-Midwest and Food Export-Northeast are non-profit organizations that work in collaboration with their member state departments of agriculture and the USDA’s Foreign Agricultural Service. They offer a wide range of programs and services that help boost America’s agricultural exports.
