    Food Export Association of the Midwest USA (Food Export-Midwest) is a non-profit organization that promotes the export of food and agricultural products from the Midwest region of the U.S.  The organization has been helping exporters of Midwest food and agricultural products sell their products overseas sine 1969, when it was first created as a cooperative effort between 13 Midwest state agricultural promotion agencies and the United States Department of Agriculture's Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS).


    Outreach to new and potential food and agricultural exporters:

    • Employs multiple approaches including technology and data analysis to identify new prospects for participation in Food Export programs and services
    • Attend industry events to meet and build relationships with exporters and partner agencies
    • Focus on creating and maintaining relationships to meet customers' needs

    Provide customer service and support to new and current participants in Food Export programs:

    • Works proactively with designated companies to develop an annual export marketing plan
    • Assists companies with understanding and registering for programs and services
    • Responds to inquiries and opportunities effectively and quickly
    • Collaborates with program staff to improve programs and services for exporters and create successful, satisfied participants
    • Identifies success stories from participants and assists in collecting feedback and evaluations


    • Ensures accuracy and integrity of company data in Customer Relationship Management database
    • Undertakes special projects from time to time



    • Four-year college degree in a related field

    Work Experience (highly preferred):

    • 2+ years of work experience in a related field, such as consultative selling, international marketing, marketing administration, customer relationship management, international trade, food, or agriculture.


    Core Competencies:


    • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, customer service oriented, must be proficient with MS Office, attention to detail and accuracy, time management skills and the ability to prioritize work, strong ability to troubleshoot and solve problems independently, strong ability to multitask and coordinate multiple priorities simultaneously, general knowledge and understanding of international marketing, self motivated, a self‐starter, and effective presentation skills. Ability to communicate and build relationships with people from a variety of backgrounds and responsibility levels.


    Physical Demands/Work Environment:


    • Work is performed in a standard office environment. This position requires light duty physical work, conducting general office duties, participation in trade shows, and market promotions, Requirements include carrying multiple files and printed materials.
    • Out‐of‐office travel to domestic and international locations is up to 25%.
