  • igourmet Finds Success at the 2016 Korea & Japan Trade Missions

    In October 2016, igourmet LLC, located in West Pittston, Pennsylvania, in the 17th Congressional District, participated in the Korea & Japan Trade Missions. Their participation in these trade missions established a new agent relationship in Korea and two new agent relationships in Japan. As a result, igourmet’s Delori Trading division is actively negotiating more than $1,500,000 in new sales contacts with expected sales exceeding $10,000,000 in exports to Korea and Japan.

  • Ohio Supplier Gains New Export Sales to Colombia

    JB’s Sauces is one of two brands owned by Milo’s, founded in 2003 by Jonathan Milo Leal. (The other company is Vino de Milo). Their product offering includes a wide range of salsas and BBQ sauces, all made with Ohio-grown ingredients, and all made from scratch.

  • Michigan Company Combines the Midwest Buyers Mission with the Food Export Helpline™ to Achieve Success

    In July 2016, Don Bryant, President of Alden Group, brand owner of LifeOiL Non-GMO Cooking Oils in Farmington Hills, Michigan participated in Food Export’s Midwest Buyers Mission. His one-on-one buyer meetings took place in East Lansing, Michigan. Over the months following the mission, Don followed-up with a number of the international buyers that he met during the meetings. One of these buyers was from a supermarket chain in Cambodia. They were anxious to move forward with purchasing a range of retail packaged, branded non-gmo cooking oils. There were a few challenges to be negotiated and overcome such as pricing and consolidated shipments, but this is where Don utilized Food Export’s Helpline™. By working with Dennis Lynch, he was able to develop a pricing model to ensure that export quotes were profitable for the company. Through Dennis and Helpline™, he was also able to connect with a consolidation service that would help to ensure that his products would reach his customer in Cambodia with the most cost-effective shipping method.

  • Building Relationships and Growing Sales

    In 2015, Vectra Trading, Inc., located in Lansdale, Pennsylvania, participated in Food Export’s Branded Program, which resulted in the creation of 20 buyer/supplier relationships as well as a sale in January 2015 of bread rolls worth $100,000 to the United Arab Eremites. The rolls were sold to be used in the food service distribution channel, and due to this sale, Vectra Trading Inc.’s increased their sales by at least 20 percent.

  • IAS Corp Finds Success with Food Show PLUS!™ at ANUGA

    In October 2015, the International American Supermarket Corp (IAS) located in Piscataway, New Jersey in the 6th Congressional District, participated in Food Export’s Food Show Plus!™ at ANUGA in Germany. Their participation in Food Show Plus!™ resulted in 15 new agent relationships and $1,000,000 in sales.

  • Branded Program Helps Increase Philadelphia Supplier with Exports to Canada

    In 2016, minority owned, Canada Enterprises LLC, from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, participated in Food Export’s Branded Program. The Branded Program, funded by the Market Access Program through the USDA Foreign Agriculture Service, provides qualified companies with 50% cost reimbursement for approved international marketing activities. For Canada Enterprises they planned to utilize their funds to promote their products internationally with advertising and attending trade shows.

  • Missouri Supplier Increases Exports to France

    BioZyme Incorporated, from the 6th Congressional District in Missouri, is an innovative company in the agricultural fields of livestock nutrition and animal microbiology. This Saint Joseph, Missouri Supplier of livestock animal feed supplements and ingredients has used the Food Export Branded Program for eight years, and utilized the program in 2015 to focus on growing their export sales to France. While they have been exporting to France for some time, they had previously relied on their distributor to provide the marketing and sales strategies. But with the help of the Market Access Program Branded funds in 2015 they were able to provide the marketing pieces to help increase sales. With a solid marketing strategy in place BioZyme Incorporated noted that there are approximate 3,500,000 dairy cows in France, and they would like to capture 3% of market share over the next 5 years.

  • "Craft Whiskey of the Year for 2016" Exported from Pennsylvania

    In 2015, Mountain Laurel Spirits LLC, located in Bristol, Pennsylvania, in the 8th Congressional District, utilized Food Export’s Branded Program to expand their sales to new international markets. They made sales of their Dad’s Hat Pennsylvania Rye Whiskey to France, Germany, and the United Kingdom for initial sales valued at $30,000, $15,000, and $5,000 respectively.

  • Ohio Supplier Increases Exports to the Philippines with Branded Funding

    Nutra Source Trading Co. LLC has utilized Food Export’s 50% reimbursement Branded Program since 2009 to expand their export business. Distributing their canned bakery products, the Columbus, Ohio based company uses Food Export’s Branded Program to increase the brand’s presence in the Philippines.

  • Philadelphia Supplier Exports to South Korea with Branded Program Assistance

    Food Export’s Branded Program has helped Classic Cake obtain new export sales to South Korea. In 2015, the Market Access Program funded Branded Program provided funding for the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania based supplier to focus on their exporting plan to South Korea.

  • Popping Export Sales for New Jersey Supplier

    Growing up in the Midwest, popping corn was bought from local farmers by Christine Myers, President of Madison Park Foods. After moving East, that same quality popcorn could not be found anywhere. A few years ago, Myers finally located the family farmer who grew this unique heirloom popcorn and decided it was too healthy and delicious to keep to herself. Myers’ husband used his background in the spice trade to formulate seasonings to make this all- American Snack extraordinary, and Madison Park Foods was born.

  • Minnesota Supplier Uses Food Export Branded Funding to Expand Exports to China

    Total Health Advanced Nutrition, Inc., from Minneapolis, Minnesota has utilized Food Export’s Branded Program since 2010. Taking advantage of the 50% reimbursement through Food Export’s Branded Program funded by the Market Access Program helped Total Health Advanced Nutrition obtain actual sales of $200,000 in China which is noted as a 20% increase in sales to the market.

  • Wisconsin Company Drives International Sales

    In October, Didion Milling, located in Johnson Creek, Wisconsin, in the 5th Congressional District, attended Food Export’s 2016 Value-Added Feed Ingredients Buyers Mission where they had one-on-one business meetings with many representatives of foreign feed markets, including a buyer from Thailand. Didion projects that $350,000 in sales will result from this meeting alone.

    Organic Valley Family of Farms, a Cooperative owned by 1,800 Farmers around the U.S., has used Food Export to participate in many Buyers Missions, Webinars and the Branded Program since 2001.   • Maine Seafood Supplier Expands Exports to China

    In September of 2015, Maine Coast, a lobster supplier from the 1st Congressional District in Maine, traveled to Hong Kong to take part in Seafood Expo Asia. This show, formerly known as the Asian Seafood Exposition, is a three day event where seafood buyers connect with exhibitors offering a variety of live, fresh, frozen and value-added seafood products and seafood-related services and equipment.

  • Wisconsin Company Finds Success in United Arab Emirates

    In February 2016, Great Lakes Alfalfa, located in Merrill, Wisconsin, in the 7th Congressional District, was able to utilize Food Export-Midwest’s Branded Program to exhibit in Abu Dhabi, UAE at VIV MEA; a major international tradeshow for animal feed and feed ingredient companies. Food Export’s Branded Program provided the funds needed to secure a booth in the Wisconsin pavilion and gave the company the opportunity to meet several feed buyers in the Middle Eastern and African markets.
