Alden Group, located in Farmington Hills, Michigan, of the 14th Congressional District transferred the technical knowledge gained from the Food Export Helpline to help establish an export partnership in Chile. According to Donald Bryant, President of Alden Group, “We now export our non-gmo corn oil to an international customer and [the Food Export Helpline] was helpful in getting our organization comfortable with exporting.”

Cracked Candy LLC, a Brooklyn, New York-based candy manufacturer, attended Food Export - Northeast’s Summer Fancy Food Buyers Mission last summer. A three-time participant of Food Export’s Summer Fancy Foods Buyers Mission, Cracked Candy was ready to launch two new flavors and promote their delicious, sugar-free, healthy candy.

In January 2019, John Zidian Co, Inc, from Youngstown, Ohio, in the 13th Congressional District, participated in Food Export - Northeast’s Market Access Program (MAP) funded Northeast Buyers Mission in Boston, Massachusetts. At the Mission the Ohio Supplier met with thirteen different international buyers to introduce to them their line of sauces and condiments.

In 2018, Coop’s MicroCreamery, located in Boston, Massachusetts, in the 8th Congressional District, utilized Food Export – Northeast’s Branded Program to promote their hot fudge and caramel sauces at the Summer Fancy Food Show. In October of last year, they made a sale of hot fudge and caramel sauces worth $7,000 and in March of this year they made an additional sale of $7,000.

In June of 2018, Neilly’s Foods, located in York, Pennsylvania attended Food Export - Northeast’s Specialty Food Buyers Mission at the 2018 Summer Fancy Food Show where they had the opportunity to make a close connection with a buyer from Canada. They are currently communicating with the buyer and seeking to expand exports to this market.

The 50% cost reimbursement Food Export – Northeast Branded Program assisted the New York based supplier FOODMatch Inc. increase exports to Canada for the second year in a row by deferring the costs associated with exhibiting at CHFA West. Helping alleviate the costs of the show helped the company focus on finding new buyers for their Mediterranean specialty food products.

Utilizing the Market Access Program (MAP) funded Branded Program for three years has helped the company increase their brand’s awareness in foreign markets while deferring costs of 50% for qualified international marketing expenses.

Nutraferma, a North Sioux City, South Dakota biotech solution company utilized Food Export - Midwest’s Branded Program in 2018 to increase exports to Mexico. By taking advantage of the 50% reimbursement through the Market Access Program (MAP) funded program the company was able to grow their exports while also deferring the costs associated to the strategy. The MAP funded Branded Program helped Nutraferma gain new buyer contacts and earn $350,000 in sales last year.

In September 2018, minority-owned Pyramid Foods LLC, located in Shawnee, Kansas, in the 3rd Congressional District, attended Food Export – Midwest’s Focused Trade Mission to Toronto for Specialty and Natural Products where they met a buyer from Canada. In September, they made a first-time market sale of $5,400 and project export sales of $25,000 over the next twelve months.

J & J Group LLC doing business as Rufus Teague out of Shawnee, Kansas, in the 3rd Congressional District, has utilized Food Export - Midwest’s Branded Program to make an impact in Switzerland and Mexico. With the assistance of the program, in 2018 Rufus Teague had continued sales with Switzerland and a first-time market sale to Mexico. In Switzerland and Mexico, they introduced themselves to new buyers and created partnerships to increase their sales. This assisted in securing a sale of $25,000 worth of barbeque sauce and spices to Switzerland and $5,500 in sales to Mexico.

In March of 2017, Belmont Foods, located in Northbrook, Illinois in the 9th Congressional District, attended Food Export - Midwest’s Focused Trade Mission to Korea for Retail and Food Service Products where they had 15 one-on-one meetings with Korean Buyers. During the mission they also attended a market briefing, trade reception and retail tour.
