  • Cooperative Increases Exports with Food Export Branded Program

    Organic Valley Family of Farms, a Cooperative owned by 1,800 Farmers around the U.S., has used Food Export to participate in many Buyers Missions, Webinars and the Branded Program since 2001. Each program offered Organic Valley the chance to start business in a new market or grow business in existing markets.

  • Maine Seafood Supplier Expands Exports to China

    In September of 2015, Maine Coast, a lobster supplier from the 1st Congressional District in Maine, traveled to Hong Kong to take part in Seafood Expo Asia. This show, formerly known as the Asian Seafood Exposition, is a three day event where seafood buyers connect with exhibitors offering a variety of live, fresh, frozen and value-added seafood products and seafood-related services and equipment.

  • Wisconsin Company Finds Success in United Arab Emirates

    In February 2016, Great Lakes Alfalfa, located in Merrill, Wisconsin, in the 7th Congressional District, was able to utilize Food Export-Midwest’s Branded Program to exhibit in Abu Dhabi, UAE at VIV MEA; a major international tradeshow for animal feed and feed ingredient companies. Food Export’s Branded Program provided the funds needed to secure a booth in the Wisconsin pavilion and gave the company the opportunity to meet several feed buyers in the Middle Eastern and African markets.

  • Illinois Fishery Exports to Sweden

    Schafer Fisheries, Inc., located in North Western Illinois, is the Midwest’s largest processor and wholesale/retail distributor of fresh fish and frozen seafood. This family owned business, established in 1954, purchases and processes fresh fish caught by over 100 commercial fishermen within a 1,000 mile radius. Their distribution reaches from California to Maine and all points in between, as well as internationally, thanks to their flash freeze process.

  • Branded Program Generates Multiple Market Export Sales

    Since 2000, Equitrade Group has been using the Branded Program to exhibit at U.S. and International tradeshows. Their persistence has helped them increase export sales by $2M in the last three years.. As a direct result of Food Export Branded Program, Equitrade was able to significantly increase exports to Colombia and Chile in 2015. The company was able to report $100,000 in actual sales to Colombia, $60,000 in sales to Chile and also a noteworthy $120,000 to Nicaragua last year.

  • Focused Trade Mission Helps Expand Michigan Exports

    In May of 2015, Watershed Wellness traveled to Taiwan as a participant in Food Export’s Focused Trade Mission to Taiwan for Retail and Food Service Products. During the mission the Michigan supplement supplier was briefed on the market and toured Taiwan’s major retail stores to anticipate how their product would fare.

  • Brew Export is Brewing with Export Success

    Brew Export, located in the 11th Congressional District of Michigan, is experiencing export success resulting from their participation in programs and services offered by Food Export Midwest and the International Marketing Program of the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (MDARD). The company has utilized the Food Export Helpline™, participated in export seminars, and the 2016 Midwest Buyers Mission to grow their business. Shannon Long, Founder and CEO of Brew Export, stated that the Food Export Helpline™ service helped them to “confidently enter the Chinese market” which resulted in $100,000 worth of sales. In addition, Brew Export recently participated in the 2016 Midwest Buyers Mission, and although no sales have yet been made, the company remains optimistic with the 7 potential buyers they met from the event.

  • Maine Seafood Supplier Increases Export Sales

    In April, Calendar Islands Maine Lobster LLC participated in Food Export’s 2016 Seafood Trade Show at Seafood Expo Global in Brussels, Belgium. During the show Calendar Islands was introduced to qualified buyers by Food Export’s on-site assisting staff and their In-Market Representatives.

  • Necco Candy Sweetens Exports to Taiwan

    In May of 2015 NECCO, a privately held company of American Capital Company, located in Revere, Massachusetts, in the 5th Congressional District, attended the Sweets and Snacks Buyers Mission at the Sweets and Snacks Expo in Chicago, Illinois. At the mission, they were successful in acquiring sales of $35,000 USD from a Taiwanese buyer.
