Wisconsin Supplier Expands Export Markets

by Food Export | Dec 11, 2019
The Stone Group from Green Bay, Wisconsin, has participated in Food Export – Midwest programs since 2008. They have participated in Buyers Missions, Focused Trade Missions, the Food Export Helpline™, Food Show PLUS!™, webinars and the Market Access Program (MAP) funded Branded Program.

In 2018 The Stone Group utilized the Food Export’s Branded Program to explore the opportunities of exporting to the United Arab Emirates. Knowing that the Gulfood Show would draw a large crowd of buyers they saw the possibilities of expanding exports to the country. Utilizing their allocated funds to exhibit at the show helped the Wisconsin Supplier market their dried cranberries and cheese products.

Early this year The Stone Group was able to report the success of attending the show and utilizing their program funds. Earning $750,000 in actual sales, gaining over 200 new foreign buyer contacts, establishing 15 new agent relationships and projecting $750,000 in sales to happen over the next twelve months was some of the successes reaped from the program.

The Stone Group specializes in marketing and sales of food and agricultural products along with export sales and strategy.

Food Export uses funding from the Market Access Program (MAP) to help America’s small businesses increase their exports of food and agricultural products. As these exports increase, these small businesses are creating jobs and improving the strength and stability of our agricultural economy. Food Export-Midwest and Food Export-Northeast are non-profit organizations that work in collaboration with their member state departments of agriculture and the USDA’s Foreign Agricultural Service. They offer a wide range of programs and services that help boost America’s agricultural exports.
