Founded by a veterinarian, Dr. Gary Cotton, DVM (“Dr. Gary”), Best Breed is a privately-held maker of all-natural super premium pet foods that are holistically formulated to promote the health and well-being of your pets. The Best Breed story begins in 1994 at Dr. Gary’s clinic in Northwest Ohio. Early in his career, as a Veterinarian in private clinical practice, Dr. Gary began observing what he felt to be nutritionally-induced health conditions such as digestive complications, mobility challenges, and skin issues. He knew that all of us, as pet lovers, could improve our best friend’s health and happiness by simply changing their diet. Today, Best Breed offers 12 different dog and cat food diets, all born out of the “common sense” philosophy that a truly super premium pet food MUST begin with only the highest-quality ingredients.

The Ohio Supplier has utilized the Market Access Program funded Branded Program since 2011. In 2018, the Branded Program assisted the company advertise its brand on social media and promotional literature in South Korea. Best Breed, Inc. also received access to and/or participated in Food Export Webinars, Helpline™, Market Builder, and the Online Product Catalog.

Food Export uses funding from the Market Access Program (MAP) to help America’s small businesses increase their exports of food and agricultural products. As these exports increase, these small businesses are creating jobs and improving the strength and stability of our agricultural economy. Food Export-Midwest and Food Export-Northeast are non-profit organizations that work in collaboration with their member state departments of agriculture and the USDA’s Foreign Agricultural Service. They offer a wide range of programs and services that help boost America’s agricultural exports.
