Olive Oil Supplier Generates Sales from Branded Program

In 2018, Boyajian Inc, located in Canton, Massachusetts, in the 8th Congressional District, participated in Food Export – Northeast’s Market Access Program (MAP) funded Branded Program to generate sales for their all-natural infused olive oils, vinegars, vinaigrettes and extracts. Through utilization of their allocated Branded Program funding, Boyajian generated export sales of $5,708, with projected sales of $8,000 over the next twelve months.

According to John Boyajian, President of Boyajian Inc, “The [Online Product Catalog] is a great program which involves a learning curve, but has the potential to become a great asset to our company.” As a result of listing their products Food Export's Online Product Catalog, the Massachusetts Supplier was able to gain over $5,000 in new export sales while also gaining a new foreign contact and a new agent relationship.

In the 1980s, Boyajian Inc. started to sell a line of infused olive oils drawn from John Boyajian’s Armenian history. John expanded the line with Asian oils, vinegars/vinaigrettes, pure citrus oils, natural flavorings and extracts throughout the years. These products are available in all fifty states and in several other countries.

Food Export’s Branded Program helps many companies, like Boyajian Inc., to afford a variety of international marketing activities. These activities include: international web site development, package and label modifications, advertising, in-store promotions and product demonstrations, and many others. This program is specialized for small companies and agricultural producer cooperatives to succeed in the exporting business. Additionally, Food Export’s Online Product Catalog/Trade Lead program is a free service provided to suppliers who have attended a Food Export activity. This program provides suppliers an opportunity to be matched with buyers through their product listings in the online catalog.

As these exports increase, these small businesses are creating jobs and improving the strength and stability of our agricultural economy. Food Export-Midwest and Food Export-Northeast are non-profit organizations that work in collaboration with their member state departments of agriculture and the USDA’s Foreign Agricultural Service. They offer a wide range of programs and services that help boost America’s agricultural exports.
