by Food Export | May 07, 2019
Good To-Go, a specialty food supplier based in Kittery, Maine utilized Food Export – Northeast’s Branded Program in 2018 to grow their export sales to Canada. Last year (2017) was the first year the Maine Supplier earned export sales to the market and 2018 helped them create brand awareness as they utilized their allocated funds to advertise their gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan option products, attend the Outdoor Adventure Show, and make label/package modifications.

This February, because of the use of the Market Access Program funded Branded Program, Good To-Go was able to report growing their exports to Canada last year. Good To-Go earned $140,000 in export sales while also gaining 120 new foreign buyer contacts. The supplier also projects to complete $250,000 more in sales over the next twelve months.

Good To-Go is a family owned business co-founded by spouses Jennifer Scism and David Koorits with a mission to provide healthy and tasty meals on the go. Good To-Go provides lightweight and dehydrated meals that focus on natural ingredients, no added preservatives, and tastiness. Their product line includes an array of gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan options.

Exporting has helped the company increased overall production staff and staff to help get the product to market. A great example of growing exports while increasing the economy in their home state of Maine.

Good To-Go starting utilizing Food Export’s educational programs in 2014 by attending webinars and then participating in the Online Product Catalog. They have participated in the Branded Program since 2017 when they made their first time export sale.
