Mission to Mexico Results in Sales for Food Export Veteran JM Grain

In July of 2018, JM Grain Inc., located in Garrison, North Dakota, attended Food Export – Midwest’s Focused Trade Mission to Mexico for Retail, Food Service and Private Label Products where they interacted with many Mexican buyers to introduce to them their pulse and legume products.

In November of 2018 the North Dakota company was able to report a sale of $50,000 as a result of these introductions, and 7 new agent relationships.

JM Grain Inc. processes and exports U.S. grown pulse crops such as chick peas, lentils, feed peas, and seed. They take pride in carefully handling their products throughout processing and product delivery. Their products are sourced from North Dakota, Montana, and South Dakota. Their contributing farmers utilize the most current research to produce premium quality crops.

Since 2005 JM Grain has worked with Food Export – attending various missions, utilizing online resources, and participating in the Branded Program.

Food Export uses funding from the Market Access Program (MAP) to help America’s small businesses increase their exports of food and agricultural products. As these exports increase, these small businesses are creating jobs and improving the strength and stability of our agricultural economy. Food Export-Midwest and Food Export-Northeast are non-profit organizations that work in collaboration with their member state departments of agriculture and the USDA’s Foreign Agricultural Service. They offer a wide range of programs and services that help boost America’s agricultural exports.
