New York Pet Food Supplier Gains Export Sales to China

In 2016, Vets Choice Inc., located in Deer Park, New York, in the 2nd Congressional District, succeeded increasing exports to China with help from the Market Access Program (MAP) funded Food Export Branded Program.

After receiving a trade lead from a Chinese buyer interested in their products the New York Supplier made a goal to gain brand awareness and additional sales volume by selling to the market. Utilizing their allocated Branded Program funds to exhibit at Pet Fair Asia in Shanghai helped Vets Choice Inc. gain a new contact interested in their products.

In February of this year, Jeremiah Davis from Vets Choice was able to report gaining $500,000 in sales to the market. He also stated, “Overall it is a great experience.”

Food Export uses funding from the Market Access Program (MAP) to help America’s small businesses increase their exports of food and agricultural products. Food Export-Midwest and Food Export-Northeast are non-profit organizations that work in collaboration with their member state departments of agriculture and the USDA’s Foreign Agricultural Service. They offer a wide range of programs and services that help boost America’s agricultural exports.
