New Jersey Supplier Gains Exports to Hong Kong

by Food Export | Dec 20, 2017
In 2017, Cibo Vita Inc., from Fair Lawn, New Jersey, in the 5th Congressional District, participated in Food Export’s Market Access Program (MAP) funded Branded Program. The Branded Program provides the opportunity for approved Suppliers to receive 50% reimbursement for a variety of activities including exhibiting costs at tradeshows, label modifications and advertising, and helped alleviate cost to Cibo Vita while they focused on increasing their exports to markets such as Hong Kong and Singapore.

Due to their participation in HOFEX (a food and hospitality trade show in Hong Kong) in April 2017, Cibo Vita’s co-founder, Metin Deniz, reported that they found an exclusive distributor and received their first order after six months. Their first container is now in transit.

In 2019, they plan to exhibit once again at HOFEX with the new distributor.

In Singapore, Cibo Vita recruited a distributor from Australia and to date has been doing a successful business with them.

Cibo Vita specializes in specialty/gourmet chocolate covered nuts and fruits. They opened in 2009 and have over 20 employees.

Food Export uses funding from the Market Access Program (MAP) to help America’s small businesses increase their exports of food and agricultural products. As these exports increase, these small businesses are creating jobs and improving the strength and stability of our agricultural economy. Food Export-Midwest and Food Export-Northeast are non-profit organizations that work in collaboration with their member state departments of agriculture and the USDA’s Foreign Agricultural Service. They offer a wide range of programs and services that help boost America’s agricultural exports.
