Massachusetts Seafood Supplier Expands Global Exports

In April of 2017, East Coast Seafood., from Topsfield, Massachusetts, traveled to Brussels, Belgium to take part of the Seafood Expo Global. Each year the company participates in the Food Export’s Branded Program, to maximize their attendance at the show and grow exports. The Seafood Expo Global is of particular importance to East Coast, as the three day event serves as the annual meeting place for export contacts all over the world. Much of the company’s export growth can be attributed to the show and Food Export services, such as providing a home in the US Pavilion, online catalog leads, translation services and in-depth country repots when needed.

Over the last two decades, Food Export services have helped the Massachusetts seafood supplier and its subsidiaries grow relationships in over 40 countries with reports of export sales in the 6 digit range. The company’s founder Michael Tourkistas and International Sales Manager, Patricia Hanford have repeatedly expressed how deeply East Coast appreciates the Branded Program from Food Export and the respective employees that help make branded activities a success every year. “We are incredibly grateful for the country specific support we gain through Food Export, which plays a critically significant role in our international marketing efforts”, says Christina Ferranti-Clift, Marketing Director for East Coast.  “Food Export has helped us to create a strong export foundation and allows us to expand each year”.

Food Export uses funding from the Market Access Program (MAP) to help America’s small businesses increase their exports of food and agricultural products; as these exports increase, these small businesses are creating jobs and improving the strength and stability of our agricultural economy. Food Export-Midwest and Food Export-Northeast are non-profit organizations that work in collaboration with their member state departments of agriculture and the USDA’s Foreign Agricultural Service. They offer a wide range of programs and services that help boost America’s agricultural exports.
