Premium Pet Products Travel to the Netherlands

by Food Export | Jul 11, 2017
On March 21, 2017, Scout & Zoe’s Premium Pet Products, located in Anderson, Indiana in the 5th Congressional District, attended Food Export’s Pet Food Buyers Mission at the 2017 Global Pet Expo where pre-qualified, international buyers meet with Food Export affiliated companies to develop strong relationships and make on-site sales. At this Buyer’s Mission, Scout & Zoe’s had a first time market sale with a buyer from the Netherlands called Champion Petfoods Benelux, selling bakery/biscuit treats, carrot dog treats, and sweet potatoes treats.

When talking with Cindy Dunston Quirk, the Chief Dog Lover and CEO of Scout and Zoe’s, she stated, “The reason I participate in Buyer’s Missions is that is gives me one-on-one time with buyers in a controlled environment. These meetings are a nice half an hour where I learn what the buyers are looking for and introduce them to our product offerings. Buyer’s Missions are a great way to privately meet with buyers and have face-to-face meetings in an area that is quieter than on the expo floor.”

Scout & Zoe’s Premium Pet Products provides pet treats primarily for dogs, but also for cats, birds, horses and small animals. All of their products are premium, USDA grade A quality made with human-grade raw ingredients. Products are sourced in the United States and produced in USDA inspected facilities. The company was started due to the namesakes of the company, Zoe and Scout, and their allergies that prevented them from being able to enjoy traditional dog treats and chews. Scout & Zoe’s has grown so much that in 2016 the company was recognized as one of the “Best Entrepreneurial Companies in America” by Entrepreneur Magazine’s Entrepreneur 360 List. They have been involved with Food Export Association of the Midwest USA since 2014, attending Buyers Missions and being involved in the Branded Program in 2014 and 2015.

Food Export uses funding from the Market Access Program (MAP) to help America’s small businesses increase their exports of food and agricultural products. As these exports increase, these small businesses are creating jobs and improving the strength and stability of our agricultural economy. Food Export-Midwest and Food Export-Northeast are non-profit organizations that work in collaboration with their member state departments of agriculture and the USDA’s Foreign Agricultural Service. They offer a wide range of programs and services that help boost America’s agricultural exports.
