Focused Trade Mission Builds Export Sales for New Jersey Supplier

by Food Export | Jul 03, 2017
In January of 2017 Phillipsburg, New Jersey based LD Distribution Services LLC attended Food Export’s Northeast Buyers Mission in New York, New York. At the mission they met with seventeen different international buyers interested in learning more about the company’s products including their condiments, confections, and baby food products.

At the mission Lee Burrows, General Manager of LD Distribution met with the buyers and introduced the company’s products and gained great interested from the United Arab Emirates and Norwegian buyers. These meetings helped LD Distribution gain new sales to UAE for $100,000 and $50,000 to Norway. The supplier also projects sales of $150,000 over the next twelve months to these two markets. Both these new sales marks a 20% increase in sales to the markets for the New Jersey supplier and the sale to Norway is a first-time market sale for them.

LD Distribution is new to utilizing Food Export’s programs and services. Starting with a Webinar viewing in 2016 LD Distribution began taking advantage of the Food Export programs participating in the Online Product Catalog and the Northeast Buyers Mission. We look forward to their continued success and utilization of our Market Access Program services.

Food Export uses funding from the Market Access Program (MAP) to help America’s small businesses increase their exports of food and agricultural products; as these exports increase, these small businesses are creating jobs and improving the strength and stability of our agricultural economy. Food Export-Midwest and Food Export-Northeast are non-profit organizations that work in collaboration with their member state departments of agriculture and the USDA’s Foreign Agricultural Service. They offer a wide range of programs and services that help boost America’s agricultural exports.
