Missouri Supplier Gains Export Success on Focused Trade Mission

by Food Export | Jun 12, 2017
US International Foods, based in Saint Louis, Missouri, specializes in exporting high quality food and grocery products from the United States to growing markets around the world. Knowing the demand for US food products is rising internationally, they specialize in the distribution of American-made food products around the world.

In August of 2016, Dave Shogren, President of US International Foods traveled to Vietnam to participate in Food Export’s Focused Trade Mission to Vietnam for Retail and Food Service Products. On the mission he introduced a full line of sauces, snacks, beverages, bakery/breakfast products and dairy related goods which were well received with the local buyers. Making two new agent relationships, US International Foods earned $2,500 in actual sales due to these meetings and are currently preparing a second order for approximately $47,000.  Mr. Shogren has also noted that they recently just signed a supply contract with a second customer in Ho Chi Minh City to supply snacks under their own "Kirksville Farms” brand.

US International Foods has participated in Food Export activities since 2011 utilizing Buyers Missions, Webinars, the Online Product Catalog and Focused Trade Missions to help expand their export sales.

Food Export uses funding from the Market Access Program (MAP) to help America’s small businesses increase their exports of food and agricultural products; as these exports increase, these small businesses are creating jobs and improving the strength and stability of our agricultural economy. Food Export-Midwest and Food Export-Northeast are non-profit organizations that work in collaboration with their member state departments of agriculture and the USDA’s Foreign Agricultural Service. They offer a wide range of programs and services that help boost America’s agricultural exports.
