New Export Market for Experienced North Dakota Exporter

In June 2015, Premium Gold Flax Products, Inc., from Denhoff, North Dakota participated in Food Export’s Specialty Foods Buyers Mission at the 2015 Summer Fancy Food Show. At the Mission they chose to meet with International Buyers from Antigua, Canada, Costa Rica, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Ireland and Israel.

Post event Premium Gold Flax was able to report over $18,000 in new actual sales of their flax seed products to eight different markets, the most notable being their first-time export sale to Antigua for $2,000.

Premium Gold Flax Products, Inc. is operated by the 6th generation Miller Family Farm. The women owned family business is located in Denhoff, North Dakota. They have been raising and harvesting flaxseed in central North Dakota since the turn of the century. Their specialty product, flaxseed, is hand selected and their cold milling process is unique to the family farm.

The Miller family is proud to be involved in every phase of the production process. Their products are non GMO and do not contain any additives or preservatives, and all milling and much of the packaging takes place in their certified allergen free facilities. 

Food Export Whole Flaxseeduses funding from the Market Access Program (MAP) to help America’s small businesses increase their exports of food and agricultural products. As these exports increase, these small businesses are creating jobs and improving the strength and stability of our agricultural economy. Food Export-Midwest and Food Export-Northeast are non-profit organizations that work in collaboration with their member state departments of agriculture and the USDA’s Foreign Agricultural Service. They offer a wide range of programs and services that help boost America’s agricultural exports.
