Artisan Snacks Participates in First Export Program with Food Export Focused Trade Mission to Vancouver

by Food Export | Oct 27, 2016
In February 2016, Artisan Snacks, located in Westport, Connecticut, in the 4th Congressional District, attended the Food Export’s Focused Trade Mission to Vancouver, Canada for Specialty and Ethic Foods.

During the trade mission, Artisan Snacks and the other participating companies received an overview of the Canadian food retail market, including a presentation on Canadian labeling requirements. Companies also attended a retail tour of various food and grocery markets and held one-on-one meetings with brokers and distributors servicing the Canadian market.

According to Robert Kim, Owner of Artisan Snacks, “I’m glad I was able to attend the Focused Trade Mission to Vancouver. As this was one of the first Food Export USA programs I had attended to promote Artisan Snacks for export sales, I learned a lot of good information from the presentations and my fellow exhibitors and made some strong contacts in the Canadian market. As a result, I now feel more capable and comfortable exploring export opportunities for the Artisan Snacks brand.”

Artisan Snacks is a producer of meat jerky products in snack food market segment.

Food Export uses funding from the Market Access Program (MAP) to help America’s small businesses increase their exports of food and agricultural products. As these exports increase, these small businesses are creating jobs and improving the strength and stability of our agricultural economy. Food Export-Midwest and Food Export-Northeast are non-profit organizations that work in collaboration with their member state departments of agriculture and the USDA’s Foreign Agricultural Service. They offer a wide range of programs and services that help boost America’s agricultural exports.
