Midwest Buyers Mission Helps Boost Export Sales

by Food Export | Aug 08, 2016
Black Swan, the Illinois makers of flavorful barbeque sauces, continues to expand their export markets. While already exporting to Belgium, Brazil, Canada and Costa Rica, (all as a result of Food Export’s Buyers’ Missions) Black Swan continues to participate in Food Export activities as a way to grow their export business.

Black Swan, a ten time Midwest Buyers Mission participant, attended Food Export’s 2015 Midwest Buyers Mission, and started communications with an Ontario, Canada Buyer. This new buyer relationship lead the Illinois supplier to new export sales of $5,000 to Canada a few months after the August mission.

According to Owner, Max Good, “All of our export success is directly a result of our relationship with Food Export. Our exports have grown to be a significant part of our business. We could not have done this without the help of the Food Export and the Food Export HelplineTM.”

Black Swan Inc. is a food manufacturer with a presence in the private label, retail, specialty/gourmet and wholesale market segments.

Food Export uses funding from the Market Access Program (MAP) to help America’s small businesses increase their exports of food and agricultural products. As these exports increase, these small businesses are creating jobs and improving the strength and stability of our agricultural economy. Food Export-Midwest and Food Export-Northeast are non-profit organizations that work in collaboration with their member state departments of agriculture and the USDA’s Foreign Agricultural Service. They offer a wide range of programs and services that help boost America’s agricultural exports.
