Smooth Transition Exporting to Japan

by Food Export | Jul 11, 2016
In July of 2015, The Konson Company, from Brooklyn, New York in the 9th Congressional District, participated in Food Export’s Focused Trade Mission to Hong Kong for Food Service Products.

While in Hong Kong on the mission the Brooklyn supplier went on a retail tour in Macau, attended a market briefing, visited a United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Foreign Agriculture Service (FAS) Agricultural Trade Office (ATO), and had pre-arranged one-on-one meetings with region buyers.

These prearranged meetings helped The Konson Company earn actual sales of $3,000 to the Hong Kong market, establish one new agent relationship and project additional export sales of $10,000.

According to David Kong, Vice President of Konson Company, “Our export to new territories would not have been possible without the support and guidance of Food Export.  I highly recommend any small business to contact Food Export for export related help”.

Food Export uses funding from the Market Access Program (MAP) to help America’s small businesses increase their exports of food and agricultural products. As these exports increase, these small businesses are creating jobs and improving the strength and stability of our agricultural economy. Food Export-Midwest and Food Export-Northeast are non-profit organizations that work in collaboration with their member state departments of agriculture and the USDA’s Foreign Agricultural Service. They offer a wide range of programs and services that help boost America’s agricultural exports.
