S.R. Rosati, Inc. Recognizes the Value of Food Export Programs

In 2015, S.R. Rosati, Inc., located in Clifton Heights, Pennsylvania, in the 7th Congressional District, attended the Caribbean/Central America Buyers Mission for Retail & Food Service Products and the Focused Trade Mission to the Caribbean for Retail & Food Service Products.

At these events, S.R. Rosati, Inc. was able to make connections with buyers that led to new opportunities in the Mexican and Dominican Republic markets. In 2015, they made a sale of Italian Ice to Mexico worth $50,000. S.R. Rosati, Inc. expects 2016 sales in the Dominican Republic to be $25,000.

According to Rich Trotter, President, the Food Export programs and services have been of great help. These programs have resulted in access to new target markets for S.R. Rosati, Inc. Rich also mentioned that the Focused Trade Mission to the Caribbean for Retail & Food Service Products in October 2015 resulted in a new relationship with an ice cream company in the Dominican Republic.  The company has now participated in four trade missions and each one has been a satisfying experience that has led to new opportunities. Food Export uses funding from the Market Access Program (MAP) to help America’s small businesses increase their exports of food and agricultural products. As these exports increase, these small businesses are creating jobs and improving the strength and stability of our agricultural economy. Food Export-Midwest and Food Export-Northeast are non-profit organizations that work in collaboration with their member state departments of agriculture and the USDA’s Foreign Agricultural Service. They offer a wide range of programs and services that help boost America’s agricultural exports.
