Hometown Bagel Inc. is the family owned business of Mike and Dawn Lally. Since 1995, they have been selling quality bagels and bagel chips in the greater Chicago area. Today, their bagels and bagel chips can be found all over the world. By participating in over twenty events and services that Food Export offers, Hometown Bagel Inc. has been able to expand their export of bagel chips.

In April of 2015, Hometown Bagel Inc. exhibited at SIAL Canada and utilized Food Export’s Food Show PLUS!™ services. Through the assistance of the offered Food Show PLUS!™ services, Hometown Bagel Inc. was able to successfully report $75,000 in actual sales after the event. With business booming, this Illinois suppler as had to hire on two new employees to help support product production.

Established twenty years ago, this family-owned and operated company made it their mission to serve quality bagels in the Chicago-land area. Because of their persistence, their business has grown to export to food service and retailers in eight countries outside of the United States.

Food Export uses funding from the Market Access Program (MAP) to help America’s small businesses increase their exports of food and agricultural products. As these exports increase, these small businesses are creating jobs and improving the strength and stability of our agricultural economy. Food Export-Midwest and Food Export-Northeast are non-profit organizations that work in collaboration with their member state departments of agriculture and the USDA’s Foreign Agricultural Service. They offer a wide range of programs and services that help boost America’s agricultural exports.
