First Export Sale for Wisconsin Feed Company

by Food Export | Jul 11, 2016
In October of 2013, Quality Roasting Inc., located in Valders, Wisconsin, in the 6th Congressional District, attended Food Export’s Value-Added Feed Ingredients Buyers Mission where they met with pre-qualified international buyers from Brazil, China, Colombia, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Taiwan, and Vietnam.

Following the Buyers Mission, Quality Roasting Inc. was able to leverage their connection with the Saudi Arabian buyer to make their first ever export sale. As of October 2015, Quality Roasting Inc. has contracts to ship their Exceller Meal product to the Saudi Arabian buyer, with potential future sales that are very significant.

This export opportunity has allowed Quality Roasting Inc. to expand its business operations by adding more equipment that will increase production to handle the increase in Exceller Meal sales.

Quality Roasting Inc. has been in business since 1991, starting up as a high quality soybean roaster. Today, Quality Roasting Inc. processes in excess of 10,000 tons per month of its Exceller Soybean Meal® product.  The company continues to build their export business by utilizing Food Export’s programs and services, where they have come to meet many more well-qualified international buyers.

Food Export uses funding from the Market Access Program (MAP) to help America’s small businesses increase their exports of food and agricultural products. As these exports increase, these small businesses are creating jobs and improving the strength and stability of our agricultural economy. Food Export-Midwest and Food Export-Northeast are non-profit organizations that work in collaboration with their member state departments of agriculture and the USDA’s Foreign Agricultural Service. They offer a wide range of programs and services that help boost America’s agricultural exports.
