Herr Foods Expands Snacks Sales in Vietnam

In September 2013, Herr Foods, from Nottingham, Pennsylvania, attended the Food Export Learn & Sell in Chicago, Illinois, where they engaged in ten one-on-one meetings with foreign buyers from all over the world.

One meeting was with Ms. Pham Thi Lien Phuong, Import Manager for Togico of Vietnam.

In February of 2014 Ms. Phuong placed an initial order for $30,000. By August 2015, Herr’s had shipped 5 containers to Togico totaling roughly $100,000 in sales.

Herr Foods, founded in 1946 in Lancaster, PA, produces snack food products for both retail and food service distribution. Herr Foods began as a local Pennsylvania potato chip manufacturer and they now also produce other snack products such as pretzels, kettle chips, corn chips, popcorn, and cheese curls for worldwide distribution.  

Food Export uses funding from the Market Access Program (MAP) to help America’s small businesses increase their exports of food and agricultural products; as these exports increase, these small businesses are creating jobs and improving the strength and stability of our agricultural economy. Food Export-Midwest and Food Export-Northeast are herrs2non-profit organizations that work in collaboration with their member state departments of agriculture and the USDA’s Foreign Agricultural Service. They offer a wide range of programs and services that help boost America’s agricultural exports.
