In May 2015, Treat Planet, located in Maryland Heights, Missouri in the 2nd Congressional District, attended the Zoomark tradeshow with assistance from the Branded Program. The Branded Program reimburses eligible agricultural suppliers for 50% of their international marketing expenses, including travel to international tradeshows. While at the show, they met 16 European buyers of pet treats and project $500,000 in export sales in the next 12 months as a result of their participation in the show.

According to Doug Martin, President of Treat Planet, “Working with Food Export was easy and straight forward.  The team was very helpful and made the process easy.  As a small company, venturing into the international markets can be scary and expensive.  Food Export gave us some great information to make the analysis easier and helped fund some of our travel.  I would highly recommend working with Food Export.  We came away from a large industry trade show with many great contacts and lots of knowledge on international markets.  We would not have been able to do it without their assistance.”

Treat Planet is a producer of dog treats for retail distribution.

Food Export-Midwest and Food Export-Northeast are non-profit organizations that work in collaboration with their member state departments of agriculture and the USDA’s Foreign Agricultural Service. They offer a wide range of programs and services that help boost America’s agricultural exports.
