Wisconsin Supplier Expands Export Markets

The Stone Group from Green Bay, Wisconsin, has participated in Food Export-Midwest programs since 2008. They have participated in Buyers Missions, Focused Trade Missions, Food Show PLUS!™ events, webinars, and the Market Access Program (MAP) funded Branded Program.

The Stone Group participated in Food Export-Midwest’s Branded Program to explore the opportunities of exporting to the United Arab Emirates. Knowing that the Gulfood Show would draw a large crowd of buyers they saw the possibilities of expanding exports in the country. Using their allocated funds to exhibit at the show helped the Wisconsin supplier market their dried cranberries and cheese products.

Early this year The Stone Group reported the success of attending the show with the assistance of their allocated Branded Program funds. The Wisconsin supplier gained $750,000 in actual sales, over 200 new foreign buyer contacts, established 15 new agent relationships, and projects to complete $750,000 more in sales over the next twelve months.

The Stone Group specializes in marketing and sales of food and agricultural products.

Food Export uses funding from the Market Access Program (MAP) to help America’s small businesses increase their exports of food and agricultural products. As these exports increase, these small businesses are creating jobs and improving the strength and stability of our agricultural economy. Food Export-Midwest and Food Export-Northeast are non-profit organizations that work in collaboration with their member state departments of agriculture and the USDA’s Foreign Agricultural Service. They offer a wide range of programs and services that help boost America’s agricultural exports.
