Plant-Based Snack Bar Supplier Utilizes Online Product Catalog to Gain Exports

GoMacro, LLC, a Wisconsin Supplier, produces plant-based snack and protein bars that are organic, gluten-free and vegan. The company started with a mother-daughter duo in 2004 after Amelia Kirchoff beat breast cancer which led her to pursue a plant-based diet.

In 2019, GoMacro, located in Viola, Wisconsin utilized Food Export - Midwest’s Trade Lead and the Online Product Catalog services. Through their online listing of products with Food Export, they gained 20 new distributorships, and is projecting sales revenue growth of 27% within the next twelve months.

According to Tony Saarem, Vice President of Operations, “Food Export’s Online Product Catalog provides suppliers like us the tools to create great trade leads from displaying our products online.” As a result, GoMacro gained 42 new foreign buyer contacts and made 20 new distributorships from the trade leads facilitated by Food Export.

GoMacro has participated in Food Export programs since 2007 utilizing the Branded Program, webinars, the Food Export Helpline™, and the Market Builder program.

Food Export uses funding from the Market Access Program (MAP) to help America’s small businesses increase their exports of food and agricultural products. As these exports increase, these small businesses are creating jobs and improving the strength and stability of our agricultural economy. Food Export-Midwest and Food Export-Northeast are non-profit organizations that work in collaboration with their member state departments of agriculture and the USDA’s Foreign Agricultural Service. They offer a wide range of programs and services that help boost America’s agricultural exports.
