Miller’s Gourmet Foods, LLC, based in Valencia, Pennsylvania, is an award-winning producer of specialty sauces made from vine-ripened peppers, including its signature banana pepper sauce. Founded in 2002 as a small family business, the company has grown into a recognized brand across U.S. retail and specialty food channels, with a strong focus on expanding into international markets.

Miller’s Gourmet Foods has participated in Food Export–Northeast programs since 2010, utilizing a range of services including Buyers Missions, the Market Access Program (MAP)–funded Branded Program, the Online Product Catalog, and Export Essentials training. Through consistent engagement, the company has developed a structured export strategy and successfully entered new global markets.

A key example of program impact occurred in 2025 during Food Export’s Buyers Mission at the Summer Fancy Food Show in New York City. During a pre-scheduled meeting with a vetted buyer from Germany, Miller’s Gourmet Foods secured an on-the-spot export sale valued at $2,000, with an additional $20,000 in projected sales over the following twelve months. This immediate outcome highlights the effectiveness of Buyers Missions in connecting U.S. suppliers directly with qualified international buyers ready to make purchasing decisions.

“This is the first time we had a sale on the spot at the table while speaking with a buyer,” said Robb Miller, Owner and CEO. “We are excited about the long-term potential, as the buyer plans to introduce our products to wholesale distributors in Germany. Food Export is essential to our success.”

Building on this momentum, Miller’s Gourmet Foods has continued to expand into new markets through the Branded Program. In 2025, the company leveraged MAP-funded support to develop promotional materials and update packaging and labeling to meet import requirements in Mexico. These targeted activities resulted in the establishment of a new distributorship, the addition of a new foreign buyer contact, and projected export sales of $40,000 in the market over the next year.

Miller’s Gourmet Foods’ experience demonstrates how Food Export programs reduce the cost and complexity of international expansion while providing direct access to qualified buyers, actionable market intelligence, and support for market-specific requirements such as labeling and promotion.

Through ongoing participation, the company continues to strengthen its global presence, expand distribution networks, and build a pipeline of international opportunities that support long-term export growth.

“Food Export support is excellent and essential,” Miller added. “We expect our export sales to have solid growth as a result of this assistance.”

Food Export uses funding from the Market Access Program (MAP) to help America’s small businesses increase their exports of food and agricultural products. As these exports increase, these small businesses are creating jobs and improving the strength and stability of our agricultural economy. Food Export-Midwest and Food Export-Northeast are non-profit organizations that work in collaboration with their member state departments of agriculture and the USDA’s Foreign Agricultural Service. They offer a wide range of programs and services that help boost America’s agricultural exports.
