Growing Exports to the United Arab Emirates with Food Export's Branded Program

Kronos Foods Corp. a Glendale Heights, Illinois company partners with distributors, brokers, operators and retailers to deliver consistently high-quality products and service combined with culinary and business solutions.

The Kronos brand is best known for their Gyros brand. The company offers a full line of retail products that allows consumers to enjoy delicious Mediterranean cuisine.

In 2018, Kronos Foods Corp. utilized Food Export – Midwest’s Market Access Program (MAP) funded Branded Program to expand their export sales to the United Arab Emirates. Hoping to increase distribution and sales through the Middle East the Illinois company exhibited at two trade shows in Dubai and one in Abu Dhabi to increase exposure of their brand and products.

These efforts helped the supplier gain $100,000 in sales, earn 10 new foreign buyer contacts and 3 new agent relationships. Kronos also projects to complete $250,000 more in sales over the next twelve months.

Kronos Foods Corp. started utilizing Food Export’s Branded Program for the first time in 2018 and plans to continue utilizing the program in 2019 along with participating in two Focused Trade Missions.

Food Export uses funding from the Market Access Program (MAP) to help America’s small businesses increase their exports of food and agricultural products. As these exports increase, these small businesses are creating jobs and improving the strength and stability of our agricultural economy. Food Export-Midwest and Food Export-Northeast are non-profit organizations that work in collaboration with their member state departments of agriculture and the USDA’s Foreign Agricultural Service. They offer a wide range of programs and services that help boost America’s agricultural exports.
